A really fun middle grade read!
Aru Shah is a 12 year old girl who lives with her mother at the Museum of Ancient Indian Art and Culture in Atlanta. She has problems fitting in with her classmates and tends to exaggerate and sometimes lie to win their approval. Three classmates come to the museum one day to catch in a lie about a cursed lamp. She lights the lamp to prove to them that she wasn't lying and frees an ancient demon. Aru Shah must find the reincarnations of the five Pandava brothers to stop the demon she released. The adventure that follows is magical and heartwarming.
