I have been an avid follower of the TikTok series of the Hellp Desk since it landed on my FYP the first day Jaysea made episode 1. So when they announced a book I was ecstatic and immediately preordered a copy. As soon as the book came out I began reading and the following are my thoughts on it...

I have always loved how Jaysea mixes serious talk of heavy topics with snark, sass and humour without it reflecting in such a way as to seem like it is making light of anything.

This book is unlike anything I have read in the paranormal or paranormal romance genres. It tackles weighted topics of religious trauma, CPTSD, and grief along with touching on other heavy topics. It will absolutely make you cry, more than likely several times. There were times I had to put the book down and step away so I could feel my big feelings and square myself away before delving again into this story.
On the flip side, the humor in this book is top tier with everything from puns to snark and I was left giggling so hard at some points I had to put the book down to catch my breath.

And the love story!! Oh babes the love story is so beautiful!! It's absolutely swoon worthy. And once you get to the spice...oh babes the spice is like the perfect chai tea, spicy and smooth and sweet all at once! Perfectly written, perfectly timed and just perfectly spiced to match the level of the rest of the book.

I loved seeing Lily grow alongside Beleth and Sharkie. I loved seeing backstory for characters I've adored for ages already and I hope that in the future we get to read about Penny and Greg, Angel and Ruggie, and possibly even John from IT.
For now, this was an epic story told in a beautiful way. I loved it. Even when it made me cry.... especially when it made me cry...
