Under the Tuscan Sun: 20th-Anniversary Edition by Frances Mayes

1.0

One of the few times I can say that the movie was much, much better than the book. I found the main character of the book to be shallow, self-absorbed, self-pitying, etc. And she never gets over it. She is blind to the world around her; doesn't experience what there is to see in her new home in beautiful Tuscany because she's so self-absorbed.

The movie is nothing like that. Is the subject matter of this books seems appealing on the surface (not what I've written, but the main story of the book), then watch the movie instead and skip the book.
