I loved this book just as much as I loved the first book in the duology. Bradley created such a lovable yet flawed character in Ada. Ada has so much to learn, so much room to grow even as tragedy keeps happening throughout the book (something you would expect in a WWII novel). Often when I think that a book could easily stand on its own, my thoughts about the first book in the series, I do not think highly of the second book. This book, however, far surpassed those expectations. Bradley holds nothing back either. She packs in serious emotional punches that had me gasp several times.
I could see her continue to write books in this series although these two books stand well on their own.
I highly recommend this book.
