The Last Queen by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni

Such an intriguing informative read this one was!
Chitra Banerjee has a special style of making us feel like the female protagonist is our very own friend telling us her life adventures over a warm cup of tea. And this book makes you feel so close to the Maharani - her thoughts, fears and love for her beloved late husband and son.
It informed me on how the Bristish Raj conned and stole the Kohinoor diamond and her son from the Last Queen of Punjab. And how the heart never forgets it's true bonds no matter the time or distance.
