Born of Betrayal by Sherrilyn Kenyon

5.0

I can't bring myself to give this book a higher rating than 3 out of 5 stars. I had really high hopes for it, but there was just too much going on and story focus was pulled in too many directions. Kenyon's series-based books are best when she tells the story of the two main characters with brief appearances by a few favourites to tie the plot back to the original series. That is so not what happened with this book. This book wasn't the story of Fain and Galene -- in fact, it felt like we rushed through their story in the first quarter so that Kenyon could give us another story about every League character that has ever been introduced. It was basically a short story and a full-series novel in one cover. This book suffered because of that.
