Reflecting on my journey with this whole series, I've come to the conclusion that I do not, nor have I ever, loved these books. I reread some of my reviews from the previous installments and my feelings have ultimately been lukewarm. One of the reasons I put this off for so long is because of that lack of enthusiasm. I’ll admit I was too stubborn to just dnf it at about 54%. I also would’ve felt guilty since my friend who originally asked me to read the series said this was her favorite so far, and that she believed it would become my favorite as well. Unfortunately not. I might have to cut my losses with this series after this. Dedicating all this time to reading something I don’t absolutely love feels like a waste.
