Shattered Peace by Erin Hunter

4.0

Read June 9, 2021.

I got the omnibus ebook from the library with all three volumes of this set, but I'm counting them each individually because I can. Sue me.

This was a cute little volume! It wasn't anything outstanding, as far as story goes -- pretty standard for warriors, with the intruders on a peaceful time storyline -- but very enjoyable nonetheless! The art is adorable; the whole page with Ravenpaw getting his tongue stuck on the ice was precious. I've missed Ravenpaw, since he disappeared so early in the series and then once the Clans move to the lakes he's never really heard from again. It's good to see how he's doing.

I also liked that this sort of works to semi-fill in the gap between The Prophecies Begin and The New Prophecy Arcs! The passage of time was a bit off, and I'll admit that irked me; they state that the visitors leave about a quarter moon after they arrive, but that's only a week and in that time Minty gave birth and her kits were able to walk around and be taught fighting moves? Somehow I don't think so. But once again, I am trying too hard to apply logic to cat soap operas. I'm only setting myself up for disappointment, really.

But yes, overall I quite enjoyed this! The fact that it's in colour now is really lovely. I hope I can snag a copy someday for my collection! Until then, it's time to move on to book 2 in OoTS: Fading Echoes! I'm hoping I can knock this one out pretty quick, though we'll see how things go. Onward~
