Penric's Fox by Lois McMaster Bujold

3.0

3.5 stars

This, more than the others, felt like a less- satisfying episode in Penric's adventures. It started out even more slowly than its predecessors, and while I liked the idea of Penric solving a murder mystery, it never did develop any urgency or stakes.

I also accidentally read these out of order, as this is book 3 chronologically but not by publication date. It would have made more sense had I read it directly following Penric and the Shaman, but it's good to know that the stories continue to improve. I look forward to more.
