I liked the format of the book.
I did like the idea of the plot - even the “light notes go heavy” format. But the mother was such a bad parent, and even though that happens in real life, it felt too much. Like - talk to your daughter. She’s left alone for days, and no one seems to know or care? Not buying that.
Not buying that no one from the hospital made sure, they got help as a family. And the dad? Why didn’t he insist on helping or getting help? Again, it might happen, but it was too forced.
A good idea, badly executed.
