I’m never saying who my favourite character is ever again. I think my last review jinxed me. I had never had such a physical reaction to such a tragic backstory ever.

Jesus Christ… this really kicked up a notch, huh?
I devoured this, I loved this. I think genuinely this has some of the best character building ever. I genuinely didn’t expect the massive plot twist in this book, and I genuinely think it’s one of the best ones I’ve ever read. It’s so tragic and heartbreaking, but GOD did I eat it up. Every interaction so far has changed in my eyes. I’m still honestly I think a bit too shocked to process properly but my god, the absolute BIGGEST kudos to MXTX, I was obsessed with the Black Water Arc. I am not overreacting, my life has genuinely changed now.

Funnily enough, I actually wasn’t that interested in the romance this book? (
The WHIPLASH I felt when Xie Lian left Wind Master’s body during the MOST HORRIFIC scene to being made out with?? Cried. Comedy at its finest. It was late at night, I was delirious and wouldn’t change the reading experience for the world
.) But take that as the biggest compliment, I was so engrossed with everything else happening I was antsy trying to read past those big tension scenes haha.

Cannot wait to see what happens in book 5, but genuinely don’t think anything can top this arc.
