I picked up this book thinking it would maybe be about indigenous desert spirits / monsters. Boy was I wrong. Sundial was equally terrifying and fascinating. Instead of relying on myth and folklore, the horror in Ward’s story comes from human nature and its hidden evils.
I read this story in less than 3 days because I couldn’t put it down!
