Green Arrow: Year One
by Andy Diggle, Jock
I got this because I started watching the show and really wanted to see what the comics were like. I haven't read many superhero comics (although that is quickly changing), and didn't really know what to expect from this.
I ended up enjoying this quite a lot. The intro (by Brian K. Vaughan) was absolutely correct when it said the very first page would draw you in. You really get to know Oliver before he becomes the Green Arrow and you get to see him in all of his douchy glory, which I actually really appreciate in a super hero. Flaws. Not so great qualities. All are definitely present here,
The art is also very well done and the coloring I found really interesting, although I'm still trying to decide if I liked the way the colors were organized.
Overall, I really really liked this and highly recommend it for anyone looking to start reading Green Arrow or anyone who is a fan of the show. This won't disappoint.
