this book read like a memoir, which I was surprised I enjoyed. kaikeyi's foreshadowing, the pacing, the characters: I loved it all. the exploration of misogyny and kaikeyi's efforts to restructure the system were realistic and so satisfying to see play out. this story was beautiful, an easy five star for me.
