[3.5 stars] This was a romp. Very episodic and steeped in Japanese folklore, it's a good book for anyone who loved Inuyasha as a kid, and wants a book that captures the same mythical, macabre silliness. It reminded me of Gods of Jade and Shadow (which I loved) but with a bit less subtlety. The themes are delivered with a heavy hand, but the rest of the book is enough fun that I didn't mind.
