And Then I Woke Up by Malcolm Devlin

4.0

"Isn't it beautiful how stories can work like that? The subtle way they help the teller, the subversive way they reach the listener, how they creep inside you like waking dreams."

This was w i l d and I want to immediately reread it and annotate it!

And Then I Woke up is a horror novella that follows the main character Lewis Spencer as he is telling his story of whats been going on in the world during a "zombie-apocalypse". It explores themes such as confirmation bias and how people automatically believe the things that they watch/hear/read/etc. if it's being told by a charismatic person. This was such an interesting story and there were just so many good lines that I'm sad I wasn't annotating it.

This is definitely a book people should give a chance, especially if you like weird, trippy, horrorish things!
