"A reader lives many lives," James Harris said. "The person who doesn't read lives but one. But if you're happy just doing what you're told and reading what other people think you should read, then don't let me stop you. I just find it sad."

A group of American housewives form a book club focusing on serial killers but how will they react when a true monster moves into their neighbourhood?
Previously read Grady Hendrix's Horrorstör and liked his style which is similar here, though it's less creepy, gorier but still shocking.
What I found the most horrifying was the treatment of the women by their husbands in Chpt 21. While they trust them to run their homes and raise their children they still don't see these women as people or believe them over another man. But really all the male characters in this book suck and there's real female rage here, I had Paris Paloma's "Labour" vibes.
But what I liked best was how the women character's rallied around and supported each other, and after all can you truely call them a friend if you wouldn't call on them to dispose of a corpse?
