The Dark We Know by Wen-yi Lee

Did not finish book. Stopped at 25%.

I just. I couldn't. There's no theme, there's too many characters all at once with o discernible distinction, the plot moves at a snail's pace and then jerks forwards like a backfiring car, and most of all the aesthetics of Slater is so fucking nonsensical I could not see it at *all*. And that's fucking worrying for a novel - YA or not - that's trying to go for some Genius Loci mystery. 

This read like a draft 1 sorely in need of revisions.
