The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma by Trenton Lee Stewart

4.0

My rating: 4 out of 5 stars

It had been quite awhile since I read the second book in "The Mysterious Benedict Society," series, so I was a little worried that I wouldn't remember enough of what happened in the last two books to understand and enjoy "The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma". Thankfully I did and thankfully the author helped us readers by reminding us of certain events and details that had happened in the previous two books.

This book was so fun! Kate, Sticky, Reynie, and Constance are a little bit older in this one and as such their adventures were just a little bit more complicated. I really loved seeing them grow and learn as they solved new clues to try and take down Mr. Curtain and his minions once and for all. I'm excited to see how much more they have all grown in the next book, when they are teens/ young adults!

I only have one miniscule complaint about "The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Prisoner's Dilemma,"-the ending. It happened so quickly, and if I'm honest, was just a bit anticlimactic. That didn't at all ruin the book as a whole for me, though!

I'm so glad I'm reading this series! Don't let the fact that "The Mysterious Benedict Society" is marketed as a children's book keep you from reading it. It truly can be read and enjoyed by all ages!
