Okay, seriously effed up book. But also so good. Definitely a character study. I’d say the main character goes through sort of 2 transitions that are both interesting because there are more factors weighing in than you would think. Teenage/childhood to adulthood. And normalcy to deluded cynicism. I think one of the most crazy things about this is it’s really easy to root for him in the beginning because he’s just a normal guy. Also, I kept thinking him and Lucy Gray we’re gonna make it.
