It's in His Kiss by Julia Quinn

As soon as I started this book I was in love with the spark that Hyacinth and Gareth had. I hate the word usually, but the ‘banter’ in this book was top notch, and I wanted as many interactions with the two of them as possible. I knew I already really liked Hyacinth as a character from what I had read of her in the other books, and I was very excited to get to her story. Gareth was also a very likeable character and I enjoyed his personality. More Lady D was also a highlight from this book; she is a banging character and I love reading more of her.
Gareth and Hyacinth had real chemistry, they challenged each other, and he made her speechless which is very difficult to do to someone who always has the answer or a comeback. They are both stubborn and witty which made their conversations interesting and fun (I particularly liked the sheep/baaa situation)! I enjoyed the multiple plot twists in this book; from the moment you find out Gareth is illegitimate at the beginning, all the way through to the end when you finally find out who his dad is. This book has a fun adventure element which was a bit different, I was on the edge of my seat during some of the diamond hunt scenes because I was so worried that they would be discovered.
The only thing I didn’t like about this book was Gareth’s “I’m going to sleep with her and trap her so she can’t not marry me” element - I didn’t like it in Francesca’s book and I didn’t like it in this one. The only redeeming part of this is that Hyacinth absolutely wanted to marry him already anyway and had reached that decision herself. That annoying storyline aside, I enjoyed this book so much, I stopped multiple times to give a rundown to my sister because I just needed someone to share it with!
Small side note that Anthony is an absolute bean, and just a very tired older brother. Also Gregory! We’ve not seen much of him before as he’s always off at Eton but I enjoyed his interaction with Hyacinth as they seemed to bounce off each other. I look forward to reading Gregory in his own story next.
