Can't Hurt Me: Master Your Mind and Defy the Odds by David Goggins

adventurous dark hopeful informative inspiring reflective tense fast-paced

1.25

I would give this book a higher rating if Goggins wasn't such a pos deadbeat of a father. He mentioned multiple times in the book about how it's important to set aside time for your family in your routine. Yet clearly, he couldn't be bothered for shit to be in his child's life at all. She hates the guy. And in the acknowledgements he literally named every single person under the sun who has ever even interacted with him in a positive manner. But did he acknowledge his daughter? His first wife Pam, who put up with his shit longer than she should have. His second wife Kate who was his #1 supporter for many years, his field nurse, and his crew chief? Nah. Fuck them I guess. I just can't really consider someone who is so self centered to actually be hard. It's pretty fucking soft to abandon and mistreat those around you who love you. That's the ultimate path of least resistance. It's too hard to care for others, so I'll just avoid it entirely. His message fell pretty flat for me in that regard.
