I wanted to like this so badly but, in the end, it was just too stretched out. I think this would have made an excellent short story or novella, but it became painfully repetitive as a full-length novel. I went in with high expectations because Bunny was one of my favourite reads last year, but Rouge lacked a lot of the humour that made Bunny really shine.
