Narrator does a fine job portraying the characters. ★ I’m not particularly fond of the book due to its pervasive male gaze, misogyny, sexism, and racism. Some might point to the strong female characters as a counterargument, but when viewed through a male-centric lens, none of these characters truly escape the male gaze.
