the way this book just took me by complete surprise, and in the best way!
i was hooked from the start - the banter was gripping from PAGE FOUR, and had me seated and ready for Josephine and Wells' story from then onwards.
i actually really enjoyed how the story went, it wasn't too over the top with the 'Fan' moments, and they didn't last too long to begin with, although i did love Josephine's loyalty and those scenes were golden (insert immaculate banter). their relationship also didn't give me any weird vibes like it could've done, with being fan x sportsman and all that. they were actually mature about it and also the deal they made at the time, made sense for both of them. it was perfect!
these two had banter, they had steam ๐ฎโ๐จ and they had swoony romance too ๐ they also grew together and individually as people and the maturity with which Wells grew into was beautiful to see! Josephine had amazing rep with her T1 Diabetes, she was such a strong person and we see that so many times - her love and loyalty is without limit and she was an incredible caddie with a love for golf and bringing Wells back to his best potential, his good luck charm ๐ซถ๐งก
the ending scene was truly beautiful and i love howthe emotions really got to Wells, and you see that when he quite literally falls to his knees and cries, the portrayal for his character was really good for him, almost as though this heavy weight had just been lifted, and having Josephine's caddie shirt in his back pocket ๐ญ๐, and then how he was his blunt self and was like "Be my wife." ๐ .
the epilogue content was also a great addition!!
definitely glad i didn't turn a blind eye to this book considering i can't seem to get into any of Tessa's other books ๐ซฃ but this one really hit the mark! i adored their story and would definitely recommend giving it a try โจ

"No one trash talks my golfer but me."
"And no one gets too close to my caddie but me. Stay beside me out there, Josephine."
"Oh, I will. How else are people going to notice our matching outfits?"
'His groan boomed down the hallway, followed by her laughter.' ๐ดโณ๐ ๐งข๐๐
