A Dream Called Home by Reyna Grande

A wonderful memoir written by a Latina author of her poor family trying to get to the US and create a new life. When her family crumbled she was able to find support and persist in her education. My favorite line, when she was struggling with her separate identities was shared by a mentor “You are now bilingual, bicultural, and binational. You are not less. You are more.”
