I enjoyed reading this one, but it didn't hit for me quite like Mexican Gothic did. SMG did a great job with building suspense and setting the atmosphere, but the characters didn't grab me. I felt like we saw very little of the hybrids despite them being a major part of the setting, and it never felt like we got got to see Carlota truly processing or accepting
her true nature.
Overall, it was a fun read but not my favorite.
