I know this book is very old (it's older than Taylor Swift damn it) but the homophobia and racism in it (very little) had me woah. To me this book is just a white, privileged woman whining for about 200 pages.

Now about the good things, this book ties food and life very nicely, brings to light how our different phases in life are described by food. The writing is witty and smart, not boring. Hated every single character.

The last few chapters are overwhelming emotionally but that's perfectly in sync with what the character was feeling at that time.

Can definitely see the allure of this book back when it was released but honestly can that woman stop complaining about every damn thing.

Just listen the audiobook, hopefully Meryl Streep narrating it will make you feel lest frustrated than reading it.
