Plot or Character Driven: A mix

I thought the writing & plot was significantly stronger than lonely hearts book club. Like lonely hearts, still had its share of cliches, but I appreciated the attempt to avoid some of them by
not having Catherine and Jasper live the rest of their 80+ year old lives as blissfully united lovers, etc (which was where i thought this was going)
. I much preferred Jasper’s iteration of the curmudgeonly old man to Arthur’s … Chloe felt like a stronger protagonist too. I disliked Catherine but I appreciate that we were allowed to dislike her without being required to. Overall I enjoyed most of the characters more than lonely hearts — with the exception of Maisie — but I still didn’t fall in love with any of them. Enjoyed the book overall more than lonely hearts.
