Intruder by C.J. Cherryh

5.0

Ah, my favorite comfort reading for an unsettled time. Bureaucracy, custom, courtly manners, friendship, a tiny splash of space travel - that's what I'm here for.

The magic of this book is that the plot is basically "a series of meetings take place in preparation for one very important meeting in which a document is signed," and yet the whole thing is absolutely riveting. Possibly one of my favorites in the series, but I probably declare that every second book. What can I say, C. J. Cherryh just really does it for me. <3
