Pen Pal by J.T. Geissinger
5.0
HOLY mother of all things, HOLY! I can't believe what I just read! This book was beyond amazing! This is my third read from JT Geissinger, and now I'm slapping myself for not reading it sooner! I had NO idea what to expect with this one, and I am still so shocked!
Readers are introduced to Kayla, a recent window after the sudden death of her husband. On the day of his funeral, she receives a letter from Dante, an inmate at the local state prison. She has NO idea why Dante sent her this letter or why he CLAIMS to know her. Kayla finds herself too deep when her house fixer-upper starts to fall apart, so she hires a local roofer, Aiden, to fix the roof. The instant attraction between them IGNITES, and they can't resist the pull toward each other. But Kayla continues to receive love letters from Dante, even though she has no idea who this guy is. As Kayla and Aiden's sparks fly, she notices strange things happening in the house. Lights flickering, the television buzzing on and off, loss of memory, seeing things that are not there...
There is so much more to this story; without spoiling it, I can only say this is a MUST-read. First...Aiden is a beast that I never knew I needed. Holy hotness, I was a complete mess anytime he was on the page. The spice is absolutely SCORCING - and will leave you all tingly in just the right places. The plot also has a wonderful subset of thriller and suspense. I found myself gasping and truly scared...then there's the humor. I cannot tell you how many times I laughed out loud...and the ending - OMFG, I was deceased. Just do yourself a favor and read this now! Ten STARS!
