most well known for the classic Anne of Green Gables, The Blue Castle is one of Montgomery’s few adult fiction novels. we follow Valancy Stirling, an almost 30 year old woman with no suitors or future prospects and a family who has such a tight grasp on her and her every move. she receives a diagnosis that sends her reeling and encourages her to take control of her own life. defying her family and transforming into herself on her own terms, this is a story of self-discovery, love, and trusting yourself. Valancy is a character i will not forget and i absolutely loved the writing of this charming story.
