This is not an easy book to read and often feels like a series of college lectures told through the lens of narrative. But the picture it paints of humanity is stunning and optimistic. Seeing the perspective of a small group of people as they explore and colonize Mars in their image feels like a glimpse into one of our potential futures but also a look into the core of who we are as a species.
