Suffice to say I couldn't stand the characters even when trying to temper their personality as that of a younger person still discovering themselves as well as the shock of being thrown into an unknown and alien world. Not only that but communicating a characters emotions was dumped in rambling internal monologues or the unrealistic set up or decisions to push the story in specific directions that were logically infuriating. I do not think my expectations were where they should've been when starting a self-published online work especially since the recommendations I had seen were raving about the pacing and foreshadowing, but that does not change my opinion of this book. I MAY try a few more chapters online again as I also read that one of the main characters is better written after the events of this book but I do not hold out hope and so I am unsure if I will actually bother.
