I was really expecting this book to be overhyped but was pleasantly surprised! The characters are very 3D and easy to connect with, and (this is rare) seem like actual teenagers. The plot was elaborate and well thought-out, the twists did surprise me and I did fall for the red herrings! Sometimes the dialogue was a bit cringe but I don’t know if that’s because I’m used to reading musty classics for my degree. Can’t wait to read the next two!
Graphic: Bullying, Suicide, Violence, Kidnapping, Medical trauma, Murder
Moderate: Child death, Drug use, Racism, Car accident, Death of parent, Toxic friendship
Minor: Self harm, Sexual assault
