On one hand, I really enjoy Moshfegh’s writing style but on the other, it was Just. So. Gross. It was like the author went out of their way to create the most unlikeable, heinous characters and make them do the weirdest, most grotesque shit. And yet, I carried on reading 🤷♀️ If this was supposed to be commentary on current society, our imbalance of wealth etc. then it could’ve been better.
