I read this without realizing it was a sequel to another book so I’m not sure if reading the first one would impact the story at all. Having said this I found this to be ok, not great. I liked the concept and thought it was a fun idea, would probably make a good movie. The execution wasn’t the best, there were a few scenes that felt out of place and did nothing for the story but overall was a decent fast paced read.
