“How many others had seen the truth of my suffering- and tried to spare him from it? / Seen my suffering and done nothing to help me.

Just, wow. There was nothing I didn’t love about this book, definitely my favorite in the series so far!
The tension in this story was incredible. I was crying, cheering, and holding my breath. The twists and turns moved the plot along in such an effective way that it was hard to put the book down. I cannot believe how quickly I read this book considering its size, and every minute was thrilling!
We finally got some LGBT characters, and a great insight into what it is like to have to hide who you are from everyone around you; again, this series tackling a rather serious topic. We also got to meet the other courts and see the difference in their dynamic, leadership, and relationships, which I absolutely loved. It expanded the cast of characters we already love in this series and gave more insight into how and why the separation of the courts, Hybern, and the human realm has been so effective.
