Glad I gave this a second chance! Thrillers are not usually my thing, but this had an unexpected feminist undertone (though a bit gratuitous at times) and I found the characters sympathetic and dynamic. The suspense was sprinkled between emotional growth and reflection. The plot and thrill really ramped up at the end, though it didn't go the direction I would've necessarily chosen. Still, an overall good and thought-provoking read.
