Hidden Pictures by Jason Rekulak

dark tense slow-paced

Characters weren't really fleshed out. The FMC was doubtful and inactive for a large part of the book and with reasons that don't really fit for a realistic woman. You can tell the  characters are written by a man very well. Nothing too absurd luckily, but noticable which is a shame. The plot and the twists were ok but there were flaws. For example
the mystery possibly ghost woman in the pictures draws with her left hand whereas a clue to the possessed people not being themselves while drawing is the fact that they are "lefties" and their right hands are used to make the drawings while possessed, so it must be ghost lady. But, huh? The ghost is also a lefty, makes no sense. Also the ghost speas no English but in the moment of need of the fmc the ghost understands her perfectly in English.... The fmc won't tell police about the drawings but the whole house is still covered in them since they didn't get around to painting the walls yet. So the police would have found out and had questions about it
also the male writer puts a lot of emphasis the females gaining of losing weight or their general body shape and fitness.

Did it move a little slow, yes. Potholes, plenty. Believable, realistic characters, no. Was it enjoyable, sure.
