Unlearn: 101 Simple Truths for a Better Life by Humble the Poet

medium-paced

1.0

This was not my cup of tea. I was tempted to DNF but just skimmed through instead.

The writing made me cringe repeatedly. Examples: "a Sad Panda moment". "If you don't get the reference, we can't be friends."

The book contained so much fluff and repetition. The 101 chapters really boiled down to a few central themes and should have been edited accordingly.

In terms of content it was mostly platitudes and surface-level advice. This may be helpful for some, but it just didn't add value for me.
Examples: Putting yourself first isn't selfish. The best things in life aren't things.

Some of the "advice" dispensed in this book borders on toxic positivity and spiritual bypassing which is gross.
Example: Just snap out of it. Create the life you want.
