My Best Friend's Honeymoon by Meryl Wilsner

I thought this book was so tender! I read it in almost a day and really appreciated it. I already really liked the authors’ other books and the best friend to lovers plot intrigued me; it also made me think of Casey McQuinston’s the Pairing, which I really loved for how it helped me give language to some of my own past feelings around this trope.

I can understand others’ feedback around the fight, I felt confused but also appreciated how it was explored briefly as an over-reaction, and also resonated with the reflection of not understanding one’s reaction but still feeling big emotions around trust. Also having a non-binary character with the exploration of using they and she pronouns was so cool to experience as well as them being fat, I just loved this representation! And I loved the little jokes with the boyfriend, I really loved how tender he was in trying and also that the book explored people pleasing and enmeshment for *both* characters, that felt really important in exploring queer relationships. Really grateful for this read!
