Hell's Angels by Hunter S. Thompson

5.0

Sometimes, it really sucks when I finish a book. This was one of those times.

Hell’s Angels was such a mesmerizing and incredible read! Thompson used his unique journalism (Gonzo Journalism) to tell the tale of how he embraced and befriended the Oakland chapter of the infamous motorcycle gang.

What was peculiar, was that as I was reading the story, I didn’t feel like I was being lectured or being scooted down the line of intended meanings. I felt like Thompson was simply talking to me about a brief moment in time that just so happened to include the most violent and known biker club. It was personal but riddled with annotated facts that only highlighted and validated his observations.

felt the adrenaline, I heard the roars of the engines, I could even smell the crowded bars and taste the beer as they slurped one down after another. He immersed me deep into the world of notorious biker gangs-their highs and lows.

In short, he takes you to the edge without having to make those life and death choices.
