The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood

4.0

I found this more frustrating to read as an adult then as a teenager. I wanted to understand more about how and why society ended up here. Who set up this new society and who benefitted. So many questions I wanted answered but that was not the point of this book and I realize that. I was frustrated by Offred and her inability to act but again realize that most would have been the same. This book has so much to say about so many themes. It seems impossible to think through it all without multiple readings.
