femmerien 's review for:
Expecting Better
by Emily Oster
(read in 2016, re-read in 2020)
Yes! I loved this pregnancy book! Let's freak out less and enjoy pregnancy a little more.
I love how Oster uses scientific research and common sense to introduce us to a way of doing pregnancy better, with less fear of making (nutritional) mistakes. The book's lay-out takes you through 1st, 2nd and 3rd trimester and provides buckets of relevant information about those periods.
I can now breathe, sit back and enjoy my morning coffee, have a sip from my husbands beer without guilt and not get panic attacks after I accidentally eat a piece of brie that was hidden in my ordered sandwich.
