Understandable how this string of short adventures, mixed with a larger story arc, was transformed into both a questing series of video games and a Netflix series. Wry humor, macabre fantasy, and elements of retold fairy tales that are just distorted enough to keep you guessing. Not keen on the ambient misogyny, but the author seems to have included it mostly as a plot point and a foil and makes clear that such views are not that of the protagonist. Still: an invented medieval fantasyland could do better.
