White Lines by Tracy Brown

4.0

reading street lit is like exhaling a summer breeze. brown is a good writer and she doesn't over-glamorize street life. the story is a great narrative about the positive and negative impact of (crack) cocaine in our communities. i recommend it. my only qualms were that 1) sometimes it read like a commercial for all the designer brands and 2) why all the pretty women gotta be light-skinned and/or exotic looking with really long hair? some hurdles are harder to cross i suppose.
