i tried to read this for the first time 8 months ago, but it wasn't clicking for me. i tried again this month and i absolutely adored this story and couldn't stop reading it. i found myself picking up this book whenever i had free time, desperately seeking the company of these characters that i embraced as friends. i guess it was a matter of timing, funnily enough. looking back, maybe it was too soon for me to read this, so it makes sense why i couldn't make it past 3 chapters. i had to be who i am now to enjoy this book, and the book was waiting for the me that i am now to tell its story.
this is a story about timing, but it's also about grief. and it made me think and reflect on feelings that i had buried deep within me for a long time. now i can smile when i think that, despite it all, it's the love and the good memories that stay.
ashley poston did it again with this one. a beautiful story about losing one of the most important people in your life, the healing process that comes with it, and the love story that happened in between. it was an emotional journey and i was really happy to read it. and glad that this book came to me at the right time.
