One Night with the Duke by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Is there nothing that Jodi Ellen Malpas can’t write? No matter what it is, she brings her A game.
You would never guess that this was JEMs very first historical romance, which is perfectly written. I could not get enough.
I absolutely love regency romances, so when I found out that JEM was setting out of her comfort zone and giving this genre a try, I just knew I had to read it. I will read anything that she writes, she is a true master
ONWTD is a slow burn, but man oh man, it is an intense slow burn. The chemistry and sexual tension between Eliza and Johnny was fire. It wasn’t the usual sparks or tingles, Even though she got plenty of those tingles, it was damn near combustable.
With each and every encounter that Johnny and Eliza had, it ignites some chaos within you and then the flames burn out and you can just feel the passion just ooze right off the pages when they finally give into each other. Fireworks, Full Body Tingling delivered in beautifully in the JEM fashion we all love. I was sucked into Belmore Square and did not want to leave.

Eliza is polite, yet outspoken. She is young, confident, challenging, and spunky. She is 19 and has been recently uprooted from the life that she loved. She longs for her old comfortable life in the country, where she had more freedom to be herself. Now living in London, where everything is about money and power, she feels trapped.
Johnny is mysterious, sexy, and demanding. I think he is the most unique alpha that JEM has written, and easily become one of my favorites The arrival of the Duke of Chester, after being accused of murdering his whole family, has everyone on edge. But it has peaked the interest of Eliza. She has heard the rumors of the Duke, but she still finds herself attracted to the man.

JEM gives us the blueprints of her beautiful alpha males when it comes to the Duke of Chester, Johnny Winters. He is fiercely passionate, controlling, overly protective. Remind you of any other beautiful alpha males from JEMs shelves?
