The King's Taster by Kenneth Oppel
5.0
I am in love with this picture book. A Good Doggo serves as Taster for a finicky new King, and accompanies his master the Cook on adventures throughout Europe looking for some food this young grump will eat.
(There are clues to the young man's problem, if you look carefully.)
The fabulous illustration is decoupage, with written documents providing the textures in neat places, like the cook's white uniform and the edges of the china. And, well, as a #dogmom I just love love love this canine hero.
A little wordy for storytime, but would make a great bedtime read. I have a niece who may need a copy of this.
